About this Event
The Introduction to Power BI Beta Course is an instructor-led course to create your own dashboard utilizing Power Query Editor, Data Modeling, Custom Visualizations, DAX, and more.
The BETA run is planned as a 5-Half Day Course running from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm MST. As a note, the course has been designed for 4-Half days, but we anticipate the BETA run might have too much material PLUS we need to account for questions.
Please note: This the first run of our updated materials, and as such we are looking for participants that can give feedback, and critique the materials themselves. Therefore, it would be helpful if attendees have a little experience with Power BI, and are looking to steps back and learn more from a high level. The BETA run is not designed for users that have not used Power BI at all OR are not comfortable learning new technologies. Once the course gets out of BETA, then the target audience will get back to a much wider range of users.
Overview
This course is focused on introducing users to the fundamentals of Power BI and DAX in a hands-on and interactive environment. Throughout the course, users will be guided through an end-to-end analytics scenario using a combination of lectures, demos, and hands-on labs to reinforce understanding of the data analysis process. Learn the following Power BI skills that will get you started with self-service business analytics and sharing discovered insights:
- Import, transform and cleanse data using Power Query Editor
- Build a data model that is optimized for flexible self-service reporting
- Manipulate the model by applying introductory DAX formulas
- Build, publish, and share visualizations with your organization and beyond
